Upstate New York Junior Golf, Inc. was founded by Betsy Ulmer.  She currently volunteers her time as acting Executive Director.

Betsy Ulmer’s name has been synonymous with Junior Golf in the Western New York area since 1989.  She has collaborated with Brookfield Country Club’s Head Golf Professional, Chip Clover, to create one of the most highly regarded and successful junior golf programs in the area.

She is at the forefront of competitive golf in WNY as an advocate intent on increasing awareness and opportunities for boys and girls interested in golf.

Betsy Ulmer is the founder of the WNYPGA Junior Girls Golf Tour and volunteers her time to oversee administration, expansion and fundraising.  She was instrumental in organizing and promoting the BDGA Friday Interclub Individual Girls Division.  As a member of the BDGA Board of Directors she oversees the administration of the entire Friday league program that serves 33 golf courses.

In 2001 Betsy resurrected the dormant WBDGA Junior Girls Championship.  She continues to serve as liaison and tournament director.

Upstate New York Junior Golf Inc. was proud to welcome LPGA Hall of Fame Member, Kathy Whitworth, and LPGA Teaching Professional and BIG BREAK III Contestant, Cindy Miller, at its first golf event in August 2005.

As a member of the Board of Directors for the Buffalo Inner City Youth Fan Club for Golfing, Betsy has succeeded in providing competitive golf opportunities to the boys and girls who participate in their yearlong junior golf program.

In 2006 Betsy initiated the addition of Girls Varsity Golf in Section, VI of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.  She volunteers her time as one of 3 coaches for the Williamsville Girls Varsity Golf Team and acts as consultant to Section, VI regarding Girls Golf.
