BDGA Junior Girls Individual Golf League
The Buffalo District Golf Association is pleased to announce the Inaugural BDGA Junior Girls Individual League, a GIRL'S ONLY golf league that is open to all girls residing full time in the Buffalo District area. The BDGA Junior Girls Individual Golf League is a 4 event golf league that is free to for players whose parents are members of one of the Friday League Interclub dues-paying clubs. All other players must pay a $15 fee per event or $50 to play in all 4 events.
There are 2 levels of play based on ability rather than age. 18 hole players must score 120 or better on your home course and 9 hole players 70 or better.

GIRLS
INDIVIDUAL GOLF LEAGUE REGULATIONS
1.
You MUST be under the age of 19 on 9-1-09 in order to qualify to
play.
2.
You MUST be able to shoot 120 or less for 18 holes and/or under 70
for 9 holes.
3.
You do NOT have to be a member of a BDGA club in order to play.
4.
You MUST have a basic
understanding of the rules and etiquette of the game along with the Standards of
Play and Code of Behavior of the BDGA.
5.
You have a choice of playing in
any or all of the four events during the month of July.
The top players at the end of the season for both 9-hole and 18-hole
divisions will be invited to play in the BDGA Championships on August 14 at Crag
Burn.
6.
All
play will be from the host club’s designated forward tees and play will be in
threesomes established by the BDGA at designated tee times as published on the
BDGA website (www.buffdga.org)
7.
All play will be stroke play with
the field divided into 18-hole and 9-hole divisions.
8.
Although you may still
play after the boys’ Friday League scheduled events of your club, it is
hoped that this new girls-only league will become the preferred competition for
girls. Of course, girls will
continue to be eligible for their club’s Friday League team at the Junior and
Sub-Junior levels and may play in both this and the girls’ league.

EVENT PLAYING
STANDARDS AND CODE OF BEHAVIOR
1.
Events are open to all girls
officially residing full time in the BDGA district.
Club affiliation is encouraged but not mandatory.
2.
Players must either carry their own
golf bag or use a non-motorized pull cart and be capable of completing 18 holes
in 4 ½ hours or 9 holes in 2 ½ hours scoring under 120
or under 70 respectively.
3.
NO CADDIES will be used.
4.
Players who are “no shows” for
an event and who fail to notify the BDGA prior to that event will forfeit the
entry fee except in emergency situations and could be declared ineligible for
the next event.
5.
Proper golf attire will be worn at
all times by players to include collared shirt (tucked in), spike-less footwear
or “sneakers”, and long pants, Capri pants or Bermuda-length shorts. Caps,
if worn, must be peak-forward. NO
DENIM AND NO TEE SHIRTS, NO TENNIS OR GYM SHORTS.
6.
Proper demeanor is expected of
every player. Any display of
improper language, club abuse, temper tantrums, disrespect of fellow players, or
any other unsportsmanlike conduct will be grounds for a two-stroke PENALTY and
immediate dismissal and possible suspension from future BDGA events.
Absolutely no possession of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products …. no
gambling will be tolerated.
7.
Cheating and/or violation of the
Rules of Golf will be dealt with quickly and severely not only for those in
violation but ALSO FOR ANY AND ALL WHO KNEW OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN OF SUCH
VIOLATIONS BUT NEGLECTED TO REPORT THEM!! An event official must be notified of
any such violation before those involved leave the course.
8.
You ALWAYS have the right to refuse
to sign the official scorecard at the end of the round but must tell any
violator that you intend to do this once you become aware of any violation.
9.
Spectators, IF ALLOWED ON THE
COURSE BY THE HOST CLUB, are NOT allowed to take motorized carts,
shall be silent during the round, not offer any advice on the course to
any player, and shall remain approximately 25 yards from the players during
competition except at #1 and #10 tees. A two-stroke penalty or immediate
disqualification may be assessed a player who allows such illegal spectator
involvement.
10.
Proper care of the golf course
shall be observed including divot replacement, bunker raking, ball mark fixing,
keeping the golf bag off the green, and disposal of all litter in containers.
