Williamsville East Williamsville North Williamsville South Girls Varsity Golf Teams We
are very excited that you have chosen to become a part of one of the 3
Williamsville Girls Varsity Golf Teams. 2011
marks our sixth year in existence and our third year as three separate teams.
Even though each school is assigned a coach we will be co-coaching the
team. Each of the coaches brings a
different area of expertise to the team. We
as coaches are committed to provide you with the opportunity to learn and grow
your game. Williamsville Girls Golf is a Varsity sport. We expect you to commit yourself to this program as you would any other varsity sport including, arriving on time, dressing appropriately and being prepared with your equipment for practice and matches. We expect that our players be considerate of the golf courses we practice and play at. You are to leave the course in better condition than when you arrived. Please be sure to replace all divots, rake the sand traps , and fix your ball marks. The following areas are off limits to players at away matches unless otherwise specified; lockers rooms, pro shops, bag rooms, and dining rooms. Availability and access to the driving range and practice areas at away matches are not always possible and are at the host club’s permission.
All players must bring their trifold medical form signed by the nurse to their first practice. It is a district policy that no player will not be allowed to participate in practice or matches without their trifold form. Click here for dates and times for each school nurse. Our main competition will be against the other public schools in our league, Clarence, Depew, Lancaster, Sweet Home, Hutch-Tech, City Honors and South Park. For the purpose of player development our league plays in 2 divisions. Players may be playing in both divisions throughout the season. We will play be the following rules. Division 1 rules: -Stroke play -All matches must be 9 holes on a regulation course -5 players from each team compete per match, top 4 players score count towards match Division 2 rules: -Stroke play -All matches will be played on a par 3 course or play 4 or 5 holes on regulation course (to be determined by the host course) -No limit on number of players for match East and South will play home matches at Audubon. North will play at Oakwood. Your parents must provide transportation to and from practice/matches at Audubon and Oakwood. For away matches a bus will pick players up at their high school unless we have a combined match then pick-up and drop-off site will be designated on the schedule. Middle school players must get their own rides to the high school if they are playing in the away matches. All players must be dropped off and picked up from their designated course. We do not want any players crossing Maple Road.
Parents please be courteous to the coaches by picking up your children on time. We expect that you should be waiting on them rather than the coaches waiting on the parents. We will do most of our communication via the website: www.upstatenyjuniorgolf.com. There is a box labeled Williamsville Girls Varsity Golf Team on the home page. That will take you to a page where you can access the schedule and daily information for players. Keep in mind that the schedule is subject to change on a daily basis. The Daily Information page is where you will find the latest up to date information including your assigned course for the day, any schedule changes and pertinent information. We will only list players by their first names and last initials. You will be able to contact Coach Ulmer via email from the website. If you do not have Internet access you must contact Coach Ulmer by texting or calling 310-8275 or your team captain for daily information. When
practices or matches are cancelled, we will notify each school as soon as we
know. Players, it is up to you to
listen to announcements carefully. If
in doubt you can contact your school’s athletic office, team captain or Coach
Ulmer at 310-8275. Coach Northway will be
taking attendance every day. If you are going
to be absent from a practice or a match please notify Coach Northway ASAP by email
at jilbers9@yahoo.com or by
text at 998-8765. It may be necessary to find
a replacement player on that day, so please be courteous. Meet the Coaches: Steve

Coach
Northway joins us for her second year. We are very excited to have her and
all the years of teaching experience she brings to our team. Coach
Northway was a Williamsville PE teacher for 36 years before retiring in 2010. I
have coached many girls and boys sports over the years for the
Williamsville school district along with the Clarence recreation
department. I started playing golf as a 9 year old for Transit Valley
Country Club . I came back to the game as a parent of a golfer and
continue to be a golf-a-holic lover of the game. My goal is to have all
interested girls find a way to love the game. Alyssa Klenk
We welcome Coach Klenk to her first year with the team. She is a math teacher at North High School.
